Harlem Group launches Motorplex Iraq in Zakho: the Kurdistan Region's largest integrated automotive destination
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region laid the foundation stone of Motorplex Iraq in Zakho — more than 225,000 square metres of driver education, testing tracks, karting and a car museum, developed by Harlem Group and Muhanad Group.
On Sunday, 25 October 2026, H.E. Prime Minister Masrour Barzani laid the foundation stone of Motorplex Iraq in Zakho. The project is being developed by Harlem Group and Muhanad Group, and the Prime Minister described it as a future hub for sport and tourism.
Spanning more than 225,000 square metres, Motorplex Iraq is the largest integrated project of its kind in the Kurdistan Region. It is designed as a world-class destination that brings education and entertainment together in one place.
At its heart is an interactive city that teaches children and young people road safety and responsible driving from an early age. The project also includes theoretical and practical driver training facilities and a certified track for driving licence tests, all within a modern learning environment built to professional standards.
For car enthusiasts, it offers safe, purpose-built facilities, including:
• an acceleration strip
• brake and vehicle stability testing areas
• off-road and 4x4 tracks
• a karting circuit and a drift arena
A car museum and a dedicated exhibition and events venue add a cultural dimension to the project. Motorplex Iraq is also committed to creating jobs and developing local talent, including suitable employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Motorplex Iraq sits alongside Global Development, the Region's largest automotive logistics centre. Together, the two projects form an integrated automotive destination covering more than 425,000 square metres. With its scale and range of facilities, Motorplex Iraq aims to become a leading international destination for visitors and car enthusiasts from across the region.
